Food, just like at home

Enjoy the surprise of delicious traditional food in the country you visit.

  • Benefit from your journey and get to know the local cuisine. Locally grown food is more fresh than imported products, and you support local agriculture by buying some.

  • The fresher and hotter the food is prepared, the less health risks it is posing. Eat where locals do – it does not only taste better, it is also easier to start a conversation.

  • The kind of basic food consumed in the region strongly depends on cultural, climatic and economic factors. Vegetarians won't have a problem in South Asia. In Latin America and elsewhere they might encounter less understanding. Eating pork is a taboo for Muslims, whereas many Hindus don't eat beef.

  • Appreciate the food you get served and avoid wasting – it is rarely available in abundance to the local population.

  • Travelling means to open your eyes to something new and foreign – keep this in mind when choosing your food, too. Then you will gain many positive experiences.
